FAQs

What is a division order?

A Division Order is a directive signed by the interest owner verifying the decimal interest of production owned by the owner. Also, it provides the owner’s address and social security or tax identification number.

The Division Order includes the decimal interest, a legal description of the property, the operator’s name, and several legal agreements associated with the payment process. When a Division Order is returned, the owner can be put into a “pay status” to begin receiving revenue payments.

How do I update my address?

Please notify Sabre Operating of all mailing address changes, in a timely manner, in writing. For your protection, address changes will not be accepted by telephone. Please include your owner number, your social security or tax identification number, old address, new address, and your signature or the signature of your agent.

If signed by an agent, please provide the power of attorney or other documentation appointing a representative. Mail change of address requests to the attention of our Division Order Department. Download Change of Address Form.

Please provide a copy of that portion of the Trust document that determines who is the successor Trustee. Include any change of address if needed. Mail copies (originals will not be returned) of the requested document(s) to the attention of our Division Order Department.

Why are interests placed in suspense?

Payments on an interest may be suspended for several reasons, as shown below:

  • We did not receive a signed Division Order.
  • We were notified of a death.
  • We were notified of a pending transfer.
  • Mail was returned to us for an insufficient/incorrect address.
  • We were notified of litigation affecting the interest.
  • We were notified or discovered that title requirements were not satisfied.
  • We are missing an owners Social Security number or Tax Identification number or have been notified that it is incorrect.
Where can I get a copy of a lease or a title opinion?

Sabre Operating employees are not permitted to give out any information that can be obtained from the County/Parish Courthouse.

You should contact the specific county/parish clerk to request copies of documents.
